The Technology-Enhanced Dialogical Reasoning (TEDR) Research Lab at Providence University, Taiwan, is pleased to invite applications for the TEEP International Internship Program 2026. This program offers a unique opportunity for students from India, Indonesia, and the Philippines to participate in cutting-edge research on immersive learning using Virtual Reality (VR) and Metaverse technologies.
The internship focuses on the design and investigation of alternate reality learning environments, where learners can experience seamless transitions between real and virtual contexts. Through this program, interns will contribute to research that examines how immersive technologies enhance both cognitive skills (e.g., problem-solving, decision-making, collaborative knowledge construction) and affective skills (e.g., presence, empathy, and emotional regulation).
Hands-on experience in VR and Metaverse learning design
Participation in research experiments in immersive education
Collaboration with international researchers and partner universities
Mentorship from faculty members at Providence University
Opportunities to present research findings or projects in academic forums and conferences
The internship will be conducted over four months, from September 2026 to December 2026. The program includes training, design development, research or project experimentation, and final project dissemination.
Participants will receive a monthly stipend of NT$12,000 to NT$15,000 to support living expenses during the internship. Please note that airfare, visa application fees, and personal expenses are not covered. However, the Office of International and Cross-Strait Affairs at Providence University will assist interns with accommodation arrangements and other related administrative matters to ensure a smooth stay in Taiwan.
We are seeking two motivated interns who meet the following requirements:
Currently enrolled as graduate students or third- to fourth-year undergraduate students
From universities in India, Indonesia, or the Philippines
Background in education, educational technology, computer science, information technology, or related fields
Strong interest in VR, Metaverse learning, or technology-enhanced education
Ability to communicate effectively in English for academic collaboration
Additional Requirement:
Applicants from Indonesia must submit an official English proficiency certificate (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS, or an English proficiency certificate issued by their home institution). If the certificate is not available at the time of application, it may be submitted later upon acceptance.
